Role Overview:
The Milling Operator is responsible for setting up and operating manual or CNC milling
machines to fabricate metal and plastic parts to precise specifications. This role involves
interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools, maintaining machinery, and
ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
Roles & responsibilities:
• Set up and operate milling machines (manual and/or CNC) to machine parts to exact
tolerances
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds based on material and part geometry
• Load materials and secure work pieces using clamps, vises, or fixtures
• Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to machine settings as needed
• Identify and troubleshoot machine or quality issues during the milling process
• Record production data and maintain job documentation
• Work closely with quality control and other production team members to meet delivery
schedules
Skills required:
• Proven experience operating milling machines
• Good understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail• Basic knowledge of CNC programming is a plus
• Good problem-solving skills and manual dexterity
• Willingness to work shifts or overtime, depending on production needs
